Fri, 03/30/2018 - 15:23
In the wake of the terrible crimes in Parkland, Florida, gun control activists and progressive social justice warriors have found their scapegoats in the National Rifle Association and its five million members. And as they always do when they feel emboldened, they are revealing the true agenda they usually try to downplay to the American public in less emotionally-charged times.

Bunkum from Buncombe: Sheriff’s Candidate Threatens Disobedient Gun Owners

Fri, 03/30/2018 - 14:27
The term “bunkum,” or “buncombe,” is defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as “language, behavior, or ideas that are absurd and contrary to good sense.” The word originated in the early 19th century when U.S. Representative Felix Walker, who represented Buncombe County, North Carolina, refused to end a reportedly “long, dull, irrelevant speech.” Instead of finishing his long-winded remarks, Walker retorted, “I'm talking to Buncombe.”

Preemption Protects Gun Owners

Fri, 03/30/2018 - 13:19
Anti-gun activists are acutely aware that preemption laws are all that stand in the way of their agenda in our nation’s cities. Many of our cities are controlled by politicians who would like nothing more than to enact gun controllers’ long wish list of ineffective and overbroad gun ordinances. Firearm preemption laws are the only things stopping them.

In High School, I Fervently Supported Gun Control. Now, I’m An NRA Member. Here’s What Changed

Fri, 03/30/2018 - 11:26
A generation of progressive activists have grown up with the same fear, paranoia, social disdain, and prejudice that I did, and they are leading massive advocacy groups today. When I was 16 years old, I would have voted to take your right to own a gun away. The Columbine massacre happened in April 1999, when I was a junior in high school. While not the first school shooting, it was the first to rage across the country and the world instantaneously in the new digital age.

Dear Parkland Activists: You Admit to Bullying the Shooter, But Have the Gall to Blame Guns and the NRA?

Fri, 03/30/2018 - 11:18
We interrupt your national, media-sponsored cryfest for a brief and simple lecture. No notes needed, I’ll provide. Over the weekend, one of your comrades, Emma Gonzalez, admitted to “ostracizing” the Parkland shooter. As early as middle school. In an event where you, her, and all your other weepy, whining cohorts marched against the Second Amendment rights of Americans who had nothing to do with the events in Parkland. Not only did Emma admit to ostracizing the shooter, she wasn’t sorry for it. An interesting development considering how the young man “turned out.” Meanwhile, all of you students-turned-activists are blaming the NRA, legal gun-owners, and in some cases Marco Rubio for what happened in Parkland.

The National Rifle Association and the gun control group Ceasefire Oregon don't agree on much, but KATU discovered they both believe a proposed ban on "assault weapons" in the state would effectively bar sales of nearly all semi-automatic guns. Robert Humelbaugh, a gun salesman in Salem, called the proposed ban "a phenomenally poorly-worded and poorly-thought-out measure.”

Forget former U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens and his eyebrow-raising call for a repeal of the Second Amendment. Fully 21 percent of Americans think the same way.
